Monroe wanders into a seemingly abandoned factory and accidentally trips a lever that activates the factory "machinery," an assembly line of seven actors who create fabulous fables.  Mr. Aloysius A. Aesop, the owner, says a missing part had made the factory idle for 2,000 years.  Monroe meets the "machinery:" Story Starter, Plot Plotter, Word Worker, and Grammar Gaurdian.  The stories become fables when Monroe suprises everyone by supplying the morals.  The troupe then performs some of the best of Aesop's fables.

Want to know more about OCTC?

Ocean City Theatre Company is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a deep connection with the Ocean City community and is committed to bringing quality theatre to the Jersey shore. Through the direction of the OCTC Board of Directors and the vision of Artistic Director, Michael Hartman; OCTC has grown into a leading arts organization.

OCTC operates as a Summer Stock/Regional Non-Equity Company, producing 3 - 5 professional musicals a year. OCTC has a wonderful relationship with the Ocean City POPS Orchestra under the direction of Maestro William Scheible. Through this collaboration summer audiences have the opportunity to see live Broadway style shows in America's Greatest Family Resort.

OCTC's commitment to dance, music and theatre education for youth is constantly growing. OCTC staff members run theatre camps through the Department of Recreation and with the Ocean City POPS. OCTC has established a Junior Company that features area youth in several fully staged productions.

In 2011, the Board of Directors and Staff officially restructured the Company to adopt the name Greater Ocean City Theatre Company. This re-branding allows more room for growth and support of the Company's vision of performing arts all around the Delaware Valley.
